Amazing weather Easter Sunday

Highs in the upper 60s

DETROIT – Welcome to Easter Sunday! Sunrise in the Detroit area was at 6:45 a.m. ET. Families traveling to sunrise services experienced clear, but chilly, conditions. Morning temps were in the low and middle 30s with a light wind.

A south wind at 5 to 10 mph will bring warmer air in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny, and baseball fans will need plenty of sunblock for the 1 p.m. Tigers game against the Angels at Comerica Park. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s.

It will be mild in the Northern Lower Peninsula, but there will be some scattered rain. Highs will be in the 60s. The Upper Peninsula will have mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies with morning rain and highs in the 50s.

Anyone with Easter supper plans will have dry roads, and it will be slightly cooler in the evening. Temperatures will be near 60 and in the upper 50s.

Sunday night will be mild and partly cloudy with lows near 50 degrees.

Monday will be warm with increasing clouds. Highs will be near 70 degrees. Showers are possible in the afternoon and evening. A few thunderstorms are possible by nightfall.

On Tuesday, which is Earth Day, the weather will be sunnier and cooler with highs in the 50s. More sunshine returns with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday. Another chance of rain returns Friday with highs in the low 60s.
