Back to school forecast

Cool front moving in

DETROIT – We are still waiting for a cool front to move through SE Michigan and Southern Ontario today.

So the air is still a bit unstable and muggy.

That means it's a bad hair day as we head back to school.

Shower chances are light but we will see some spotty light rain showers around through the first half of today.

Some Tuesday afternoon sun mixed with exiting clouds will bring highs into the low 80s as humidity sticks around one more day.

Breezy conditions today too with winds 7-17 mph. That cool front will push through later this afternoon or evening leading to a couple of nice days ahead.

The humidity becomes much more manageable Wednesday with mainly sunshine and highs again into the low 80s.

Again, the humidity and winds decrease making for a beautiful hump day tomorrow.

Thursday looks good for now with some clouds mixed with sunshine and mid 80s.

But, computer model data is a bit split on a couple of rain chances at the end of the work and school week.

For now, expect rain and thundershowers on Friday with another cold front.

This will bring noticeably cooler air into Metro Detroit this weekend.
