Beautiful weekend starts Friday

Highs near 80°

DETROIT – It was another great weather night for sleeping with mostly clear skies and cool 40s to low 50s to start your finally Friday.

Sunshine will help shoot temps into the 80° range through this afternoon around most of Metro Detroit and SE Michigan. Light ENE winds 5-10 mph will keep east siders a few degrees cooler once again today. Cloud cover will increase as mostly sunny skies turn partly cloudy later in the day, but we will be dry.

A strong and stable ridge of high pressure is parked right on top of Pure Michigan and will keep us with gorgeous weather for days.

We have a good chance of hitting 80° both Saturday and Sunday with plenty of weekend sunshine.

Sunday looks a bit warmer than Saturday as warmer and more muggy air will be pumping in from the south. That means a few more clouds late in the weekend which will be great for anything and everything outdoors. This kind of environment will set up for stormy weather heading into next week.

We will have rain and thunder around Monday through Thursday next week with showers on and off.
