Becoming mostly sunny Saturday, cool

Temps rise to the low 60s

DETROIT – Detroit's temperatures are on the swing upward this weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be bright with 60s the first day and 70s the next.

Saturday morning will be chilly with some patchy fog. Temps will be in the 40s for early risers traveling to services or activities around Southeast Michigan. Sunnier skies prevail by midday with temps in the middle and upper 50s. 

Saturday afternoon will be mostly sunny with temps near average levels. The mercury will rise to the low and middle 60s. Michigan tailgaters and football fans will enjoy the autumn air and beautiful reds, oranges and yellows mixing with maize and blue as the Wolverines take on Northwestern at 3:30pm ET.

The Michigan State Spartans play Rutgers in New Jersey at 8pm ET with temps in the middle then low 50s.

Saturday evening will have fair skies and cool conditions in Detroit. Temps will be in the 50s for families going out to dinner or the movies.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and chilly with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Sunday will be milder. High pressure will provide stable air for mostly sunny skies. Winds around that high pressure are clockwise and will flow from the southwest. Highs will be in the low 70s outside Ford Field when the Detroit Lions host the Arizona Cardinals.

Monday will be warmer than average, again, with highs near 75°F. A cold front arrives, so skies will go from mostly sunny to partly sunny. Showers arrive for Monday evening, Monday night and Tuesday morning. Tuesday will be cooler with highs barely around 60°F. Temps will slowly rise to the middle and upper 60s Wednesday and Thursday with sunnier skies.
