Lows are bitter cold this morning. The low single digits and below zero as clouds spread over SE Michigan ahead of a little snow.
That snow maker will move through this morning around 8am in Metro Detroit and a bit sooner in our northern counties.
In fact, radar shows a little light snow already moving into the thumb region.
This will not be a lot of snow and some of us will see very little wet weather. And, we should get through most of morning commute before the snow moves in.
We need to watch out for a few periods of moderate snow, limiting visibility and glazing the roads. A few hit and miss snow showers will continue through the day as highs climb to near 20 degrees. Winds are light SW 5-10 mph.
There’s another chance for light snow Wednesday morning as we take a brief break from the deep freeze.
We only expect about 1” of fresh snow but the timing is bad once again right in the middle of the morning commute.
Highs should reach the middle to upper 20s with mostly cloudy skies and snow tapering off into the afternoon.
We may see temps in the mid 30s to near 40 degrees by Friday but as clouds fill in late and light snow moves in… we may struggle to hit those numbers.
There’s also a chance for a wintry mix if temps warm enough as we end the work and school week. You can get a look at the radar and your 7 Day outlook on the weather page of clickondetroit.com and by following the links below.
