Bright, cool weekend ahead for Metro Detroit

Highs to reach into mid-50s

DETROIT – The weekend will be cool but become brighter in Detroit and southeast Michigan.

Saturday morning will be sunny and chilly with temperatures in the low 40s and upper 30s. Volunteers at the Belle Isle Cleanup may need a jacket, sweatshirt and hat as they polish one of Motown's finest gems.

Families going to Greenfest at the Detroit Zoo will celebrate the vibrant life on Earth under mostly sunny skies Saturday afternoon. It will be cool with highs in the middle 50s.

Skies will be clear Saturday evening with temperatures near 50 degrees for dinner out.

Saturday night will be fair and chilly with lows in the low 40s.

Sunday will be just about as beautiful and cool with partly sunny skies. Boaters and parents cheering at little league games will need their jackets, again, with highs in the middle 50s.

An area of low pressure will slowly lumber and spin into the Midwest next Monday through Thursday. With these showers, vivid colors should burst during the beginning of May and throughout the month.
