Bursts of snow create slick roads in metro Detroit

Snow is hit-and-miss across area

DETROIT – Occasional snow squalls are creating slick roads and reduced visibility this afternoon, so travel with a bit of extra caution and expect a slower evening drive.

Snow is hit and miss and a bit of a nuisance for those who are seeing the flakes flying.

Temps are steady in the mid 20s to near 30 degrees.

The winds are shifting to the WNW 10-20 mph making that snow swirl around as it comes and goes. Bundle up!

Dry weather takes over later this evening and will continue into Wednesday. Tomorrow will be cold with single digit lows and highs in the upper 20s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Warmer weather is on it's way towards the end of the week.

Metro Detroit will have low 40s on Thursday and upper 40s Friday with another storm moving in that looks like mainly rain. This may start as a wintry mix early Thursday but then plain rain showers with a high temp around 42°. There is a chance for a few periods heavier rain and scattered thunder for the early part of Friday before it clears in the morning and we warm up to a nice end of the work and school week.

The outlook for Sunday and Monday (opening day at Comerica) looks to be in the low with a slight chance for a light shower Monday during the game. We'll keep an eye on any changes as soon as we get them and share with you on air and online.
