Calm with clouds Friday night

Low in the low 60s

DETROIT – After some sunshine Friday afternoon, Friday night will be lovely and warm. Higher temps are on the way for the weekend along with some showers. No wash-out, thankfully.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Friday evening will be warm and calm for the Santana concert at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston and Full Moon Friday Night Hike at the Farmington Hills Nature Center. Skies will be mostly to partly cloudy with temperatures in the low 70s and upper 60s.

As a warm front approaches, skies will remain filled with some clouds. This will act as a quilt and keep overnight lows in the low 60s.

Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy but warm. Highs will be in the middle and upper 70s. It will be a bit more humid and unstable. So scattered showers are possible late in the afternoon and Saturday night. Not everyone gets wet, so One Direction fans and devotees of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will have decent weather at their concerts (Ford Field and Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, respectively).

Saturday night will have showers and a few thunderstorms. Much of the rain will fall when many are sleeping or arriving home from late night activities. Lows will be in the middle 60s.

Sunday will be wet in the morning for families traveling to services. It remains warm with some sun in the afternoon. Highs will be near 80 degrees.

The last day of August, Monday, and the start of September will be sunnier and feel like summer. Daytime temps will be in the low 80s Monday. Highs will be in the middle 80s Tuesday through Friday. Weather looks great for Friday and the start of Ford Arts, Beats, and Eats.
