Cold and snow create slick roads

Highs in the mid 30s

DETROIT – Mostly cloudy today with a few flurries or very light snow showers. Highs in the mid 30s. Southwest wind at 8 to 13 m.p.h.

Another area of light snow moves in this evening, and this one gives areas south of 8 Mile the best chance of seeing any accumulation. The way things look right now, Lenawee and Monroe Counties could see 1-2" of snow by Monday morning, Wayne and Washtenaw Counties could see around an inch, and those of you north of 8 Mile should see less than that. Lows tonight in the upper 20s.

A strong Arctic cold front swings across the area Monday with some snow showers, and it'll become windier through the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s in the morning, and temperatures may even start falling as the Arctic air streams in. Windy and colder Monday night with snow showers. Lows in the mid to upper teens.

Windy and very cold on Tuesday…this will be our coldest day of the week with highs in the mid 20s, and wind chills in the single numbers all day. Snow showers are also likely…with some accumulation possible for those of you who get the more persistent lake effect band that will stretch eastward across the state from Lake Michigan. Wind trajectory will dictate exactly where the band sets up, with the most likely scenario putting it somewhere between I-94 and M-59. Windy with scattered light snow showers Tuesday night. Lows in the upper teens.

An Alberta Clipper will spread more snow across the area on Wednesday, with some accumulation possible. Highs in the low 30s, and it'll be another windy day. Snow ends Wednesday night, with lows in the upper teens to near 20.

Then partly to mostly cloudy on Thursday and Friday. Highs in the upper 20s to low 30s both days.
