Chilly Monday morning with mostly cloudy skies

Rising temps later in the week

DETROIT – A chilly start to the week with temps in the teens and 20s feeling even colder as you get going on a Monday.

Skies are mostly cloudy most of the day with an occasional flurry or light snow shower. But wind chills will be in the teens this morning and in the 20s this afternoon. Highs will hit around 36 degrees as winds pick up SSW 7-15 mph gusting 20mph through the late morning and afternoon.

Get ready for slow and steady improvements this week as Tuesday highs slowly creep up into the upper 30s under partly sunny skies. Winds will be light and wind chills won't be a big concern. Some neighborhoods around SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario may flirt with 40 degrees.

We are into the mid and maybe upper 40s by Wednesday seeing our snow melting around Metro Detroit. We should see plenty of sun early Wednesday and it will be a great travel day for Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

Thursday will be warming but a rain maker will be right on our doorstep.

It looks like 50 degrees or warmer is likely for Thanksgiving with a slight chance for a shower. Most of the wet weather holds off until Friday… at least that's how the model data plays it out for now.
