DETROIT – Chilly air arrives in Detroit and Southeast Michigan Sunday with one cold front. A second cold front brings colder air for the rest of 2014.

Sunday afternoon will remain chilly with partly sunny skies. Temperatures will be in the middle and upper 30s. Residents need to reach back in closet for winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves before going outdoors.

DETROIT LIONS VS. GREEN BAY PACKERS WEATHER

Lions fans lucky enough to travel to Green Bay for the football game against the Packers will run into much colder air on game-day. Kickoff is at 4:25pm ET/3:25pm CT, and temperatures will go from the middle 20s to the low 20s by the time the Detroit Lions win.

Sunday evening will be partly cloudy and chilly with temps back to the freezing mark.

A second cold front will cross the region Sunday night and Monday bringing even colder air for much of the week. Overnight lows will dip to the low 20s.

The rest of 2014 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) will gradually get colder with partly to mostly sunny skies. Monday's daytime temps will be near 30. Tuesday and Wednesday will have early morning lows in the teens and afternoon highs in the 20s. When spectators gather to watch the "D" drop in Campus Martius in downtown Detroit, Temps will be in the low 20s, and the first day of 2015, Thursday, will be cold but partly sunny with highs in the upper 20s.

December 2014 will go down in history as Detroit's second least snowy December in recorded history.
