Chilly start expected for Sunday

Metro Detroiters will see the coldest morning temperatures of the season

Sunday will have a chilly start with the coldest morning temperatures of the season.

Winter officially started Friday, but December 1st is the meteorological start to winter.  Temperatures will reach the teens in some western and northern Detroit suburbs and low 20s for most to start Sunday.  We will see clear skies and light winds. Afternoon highs will again be in the low to mid-30s with sun mixed with a few clouds.

Monday is another day to watch as our chances for a white Christmas are increasing. The Christmas Eve day will be dry with partly sunny skies and mid-30s for highs. By late afternoon or early evening snow showers will move in from South to North. Right now it looks like we could get a nice coating across much of the area. The Local 4Casters will be watching closely for you. We may see a few scattered snow showers early on Christmas and then some clearing and cold. Happy Holidays!
