Clouds move on after midnight, becoming chilly

Cloudy and cool Sunday afternoon and evening, but sunshine is on the way for Detroit's weekend. Saturday will be cool. Sunday will be mild.

Friday evening is mostly cloudy with some sunshine before sunset at 7:02pm. Hockey fans will need their favorite Red Wings jacket and hat because temps will fall through the 50s. Same is true for high school football fans.

Friday night will have gradual clearing as overnight lows reach the middle 40s in Motown and the low 40s and upper 30s in Detroit's suburbs. Some neighborhoods may have patchy fog by dawn, Saturday.

Saturday afternoon will become mostly sunny but remain cool Highs will be in the low 60s. It will be dry for Michigan fans going to Ann Arbor for the 3:30pm ET homecoming football game against Northwestern. The wind will blow from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Michigan State will be in Piscataway, New Jersey, playing Rutgers at 8pm ET with temps in the upper, then low, 50s.

Sunday will be bright with milder conditions. High pressure will provide stable conditions with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s. The Detroit Lions will be at Ford Field at 4:05pm ET taking on the Arizona Cardinals.

Monday will be warmer than average, again, with highs in the low 70s. Another cold front brings showers for late Monday and early Tuesday. Cooler conditions return with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s the rest of next week.
