Cloudy, watching for rain Thursday

Highs in the upper 50s

DETROIT – Thursday morning rain is staying west of Metro Detroit and may avoid most of us until lunchtime and beyond. So, grab the umbrella as we will be dodging light rain showers this afternoon.

Watch out for a few lingering showers this evening and early overnight as well. But this is no major rain maker in the area… just a bit of a nuisance. Highs will struggle due to clouds and rain chances only reaching the upper to near 60° and winds SE 5-12 mph.

We may see a few showers hanging on for early Friday, but an early look at the weekend ahead keeps Metro Detroit warming into the 60s and low 70s for most of the weekend. Friday looks partly sunny turning mostly sunny and great weather for afternoon baseball at Comerica Park. Highs flirting with 70° Friday and Saturday will be mostly sunny and beautiful.

There is a growing chance for rain showers moving into Metro Detroit late Sunday into Monday and we will keep an eye on that part of the forecast for you as we get closer and more detailed information.
