Cold and windy Wednesday

Wind chills near 0

DETROIT – Wednesday morning will be frigid and remain windy. 

Temps will begin in the low and middle teens, and wind chills will start below zero for early risers.

Wednesday afternoon will stay below freezing with highs near 24 and wind chills barely above zero.

Skies will be mostly cloudy with a few snow flakes here and there.  A west wind will blow at 9 to 18 mph.

Wednesday night will have more "snuggle weather" with lows in the single numbers and "feels like" temps below zero again.

Families must be careful with space heaters.

Thursday will be brighter with brilliant sunshine while temps remain below average. Afternoon temps will be near 25 again.

Friday will see clouds return with a chance of snow.  Accumulations may range from a trace to a few inches for people to shovel.  Temps will be near 30.

The weekend will have temps in the middle 30s with sunshine returning by Sunday.
