SE Michigan's first winter blast makes roads slippery

Roux: More snow on way

DETROIT – Bridges, overpasses, and secondary streets are slick, so be careful.

Watch: Lauren Podell shows you dangerous road conditions

Some spotty snow showers are likely today especially down closer to the Ohio border.

A cold front is moving through today so, we'll see our high temp around noon or into the afternoon in the mid 30s.

The winds will begin gusting from the WSW 10-20 mph and some lake effect snow showers will begin to blow into the state later today or tonight.

Much of Western Lower Michigan is under a Winter Storm Warning or Winter Weather Advisory for heavy bands of lake effect snow tonight and tomorrow that will make travel really difficult once again west of Detroit.

We'll see some lake effect snow showers on Tuesday which will not accumulate to much but an occasional snow band may lay down an isolated coating.

Update: First winter blast causing traffic problems Monday

The bigger story tomorrow is the wind chill. We may wake up tomorrow morning with subzero wind chills and only warm up into the low and mid 20s Tuesday.

Scattered light snow tomorrow with gusty winds from the West 15-25 mph.

It looks like we're in for another accumulating snow Wednesday.

It's a bit early but the models are calling for 1-3" midweek as we stay cool from the mid teens to near 30 degrees for your hump day.

It will stay cold the whole work/school week, but we should get into the 40s this weekend. Get your complete 7 Day forecast on clickondetroit.com and on the Weather links:
