Cold, dry for evening holiday shopping

Temps near 30

DETROIT – This is the final full weekend before Christmas, and mother nature is helping Shoppers just like the previous two Saturdays and Sundays.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Saturday evening will be partly cloudy and cold with temperatures dropping to about 30°.

Saturday night will be colder with lows in the middle 20s; near average.

Sunday will have some sun as the mercury climbs a bit higher. Afternoon readings will be in the upper 30s. Lions fans flying or driving to and from the football game against the Chicago Bears will encounter similar weather in the Windy City. It will be perfect December weather for a Detroit win.

A mixture of sun and clouds is in the offing Monday, and daytime temps continue to increase. Highs will be just above 40 degrees. It will be the last dry shopping day before Christmas.

Tuesday will have increasing clouds with rain developing and temps near 40. As colder air arrives Christmas Eve, Wednesday, snowflakes will fly and coat the roads and sidewalks. With that, there is a slight chance of a White Christmas, Thursday. Travel will not be to tricky on the holiday as temps stay in the low and middle 30s.
