Cold front making its way to Metro Detroit
Temperatures dip down to nearly 40 degrees
Metro Detroit is seeing a cloudy start to the day with morning temps in the 40s and wind chills in the 30s.
So, bundle up if you’re heading out for a walk or an early baseball practice. We will see a few breaks in the clouds from late morning through the early afternoon. Temps will climb into the upper 50s and low 60s. A cold front will swing through Saturday afternoon bringing rain and isolated thunder chances mainly between 4 p.m. and 7 or 8 p.m. After that, temps fall and winds pick up a bit. Anyone heading to the Tigers game should anticipate a brief delay, bring a jacket and expect them to play ball!
Mother’s Day will be crisp with lows in the upper 30s and then highs struggling to hit 50 degrees. Winds will be brisk from the WNW 15-25 mph and there’s a slight chance for a few isolated afternoon showers. Models are hinting at a wintry mix in the Thumb, but nothing more than a quick rain shower in Metro Detroit.
We may start off Monday morning with patchy frost for a couple of hours with lows near freezing. So, keep the hanging baskets, sensitive flowers and plants in the garage. The cold snap won’t last long.
