Colder stretch of weather starts Wednesday

Highs in the mid 30s

DETROIT – The winds will be howling today and they will usher in cooler air all day with some light snow showers likely. Radar shows the lake effect machine gearing up which will mean heavier snow in Northern and Western Michigan. But, The Thumb down into our northern counties both have a shot at an afternoon dusting. Temps quickly hit mid 30s today and then fall through the afternoon. Winds from the WNW 15-20 mph will gust closer to 30 mph at times.

We will stay on the cool side the rest of the week and we may see a few flurries again tomorrow. Highs will only hit mid 30s for the next week or so, with cooler nights in the mid 20s.

There doesn't seem to be any big threats for rain or snow this weekend. But, early model data is hinting at a snow maker coming our way in the middle of next week. Could we get a White Christmas? It's looking a little more likely but we will keep you posted.
