Scattered spring showers on Thursday

Highs in the upper 50s

DETROIT – A cool front is moving through this morning prompting rain showers and rain cooled air. Some early morning showers are coming down on the heavy side making things tricky on the roads so give yourself extra time on the drive.

We will be dodging light rain showers on and off most of the day. These are more nuisance showers coming and going as a slow moving system to our east keeps spinning showers our way. That means east siders will see rain linger a bit longer into the afternoon. But rain becomes weaker and lighter into the mid and late afternoon. We will likely only see mid to upper 50s for highs today with winds NNW 5-12 mph.

Sunshine is back Friday mixed with a few clouds and temps will respond. We should hit mid to upper 60s tomorrow with light winds NW 5-10 mph. Things are looking really nice through the weekend as temps begin to soar into the 70 degrees range both weekend days. One stubborn model throws a few light showers Saturday morning but we are not buying into that keeping your weekend dry.
We'll have rain and thundershowers on Monday which may be packing a bit of a punch. It's too early to tell if any storms will be strong or severe but we need to be on the ready early next week for some wild weather.
