Cool Monday night, warmer Tuesday in Metro Detroit

Warmer air comes with some showers mid-week

DETROIT – Monday night will be another cool night where Detroiters can hear a cool breeze rustling the leaves and blowing through the screen door to keep them comfortable. Overnight lows will be in the middle and low 50s by Tuesday morning.

As high pressure moves to Michigan's east, a southwesterly wind will blow warmer air over the region. Tuesday afternoon temps will rise into the upper 70s with mostly sunny skies. Tuesday evening will be perfect for baseball when Pitcher Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals come to Motown to take on the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Wednesday and Thursday will be even warmer with highs near 80 degrees and a bit higher. Slightly more humid air will spark scattered showers and storms Wednesday afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front. This boundary will provide more wet weather Thursday morning.

Friday and the weekend will be sunnier again with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
