Cool Saturday with a few showers
Highs in the upper 60s
The last Saturday of summer will start cool and remain cool with mostly cloudy skies. It will begin with damp conditions following overnight rain, and morning lows will be near 60.
Saturday afternoon will have gray skies with a slight chance of scattered light and moderate showers. Highs will be in the upper 60s. The wind will blow from the northwest at 9 to 14 mph. Avid boaters will encounter 1 to 3 ft. waves on Lakes Erie, St. Clair and Huron.
Saturday evening will be mostly dry for baseball. The Detroit Tigers host Chicago White Sox at 7:08pm at Comerica Park. A few rain clouds will be roaming, but the main feature will be the cool conditions for fans. Tigers hats, sweatshirts and jackets will be needed as temps fall through the 50s by the end of the game.
Residents will need to turn on their heaters before sleeping as clearing skies and the northwesterly wind allows temps to fall into the mid and low 40s.
Autumn begins at 4:44pm ET on Sunday with the fall equinox. Skies will be mostly sunny, and it will feel like fall. Highs will barely make it above 60 degrees. Die-hard Lions fans in DC will have temps in the 70s as the Lions take on Washington just outside the Nation's Capital.
Next week will be slightly milder, but windbreakers and jackets will still be needed. Afternoon temps go into the middle and upper 60s by the middle of next week.
