Cooler air moves through Metro Detroit Tuesday

Lows are dropping into the 50s

DETROIT – You can already feel the cooler air settling into the area in the wake of some rain and thundershowers overnight. Like Monday evening, not everybody received rain overnight but we are all feeling a little cooler.

Lows are dropping into the 50s early on and then low to mid 70s this afternoon with mostly to partly cloudy skies. Winds will be brisk off of the big lakes NE 10-17 mph making it feel even cooler on the east side. The cooler air will stick around for a few days before the summer heat builds back in for the weekend.

We could see some record low temps early Wednesday but no frost concerns. Lows around Metro Detroit will be around 50 degrees with 40s in the suburbs. That crisp start will set up for another day in the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.

By Thursday, we will get back into the upper 70s and expect 80s on Friday. There is a slight chance for a few scattered storms Saturday and Sunday as temps reach the upper 80s. Doesn't look like a washout and we will keep you posted if there are any changes.
