Cooler Friday with sunshine on the way

Highs in the low 70s

DETROIT – After lows early near 60 degrees, highs will only hit the low and mid 70s with winds NW turning NE 5-12 mph. We'll get into more and more sunshine through the afternoon today. Make it a fabulous Friday!

It's a mixed bag this Father's Day weekend as we watch remnants of Tropical Depression Bill very closely. That storm will bring increased cloud cover Saturday with highs in the low 80s and mostly dry. Areas again near the Ohio and Indiana borders have the best chance at a few showers Saturday closer to that storm but be prepared for a possible shower into the late, late afternoon or evening around Metro Detroit too.

There's a better chance for scattered showers and storms Sunday morning and afternoon. Father's Day is also the First Day of Summer (Summer Solstice 12:38pm Sunday) and it will feel very summer like with heat and humidity climbing. Highs in the mid 80s in between rain and thundershowers. It will not be an all day soaker but we will see rain and thundershowers coming and going at times.

We do have a chance for a few showers midday Monday with highs near 80 degrees. But, it looks like conditions will dry out for the Ford Fireworks Downtown Detroit Monday Night. As always ...stay tuned!
