Crisp start to the day in Metro Detroit

Thursday will be a cool but comfortable day

DETROIT – Another crisp start around Metro Detroit this Thursday.

Morning lows are already in the 40s and 50s so it's cool but comfortable. The air is dry which means it cools and warms quickly. Under mostly sunny skies, highs today should hit the mid to upper 70s with winds still blowing off the big lakes on the east side which means only slightly cooler closer to the water. Winds are ESE 5-10 mph.

Friday should be another beautiful day after a cool start in the 50s, we will see temps closer to 80 degrees. Warmer winds from the south will help warm us up ahead of an approaching cold front. That cold front brings a threat for a few storms late Friday. But most of the wet weather will hold off.

Saturday morning storms will get our attention around SE Michigan. No severe weather is expected but we will wake to rain and thundershowers with the passage of a cold front. So, expect morning storms and a chance for a few lingering showers into the early afternoon. Otherwise, most of the rest of your weekend is dry. Highs Saturday will hit upper 70s while Sunday will be cooler in the low to mid 70s.
