DETROIT – Another chilly start with temps in the upper 20s and wind chills in the teens as you head out this Thursday morning. Clouds will continue to stream in with a few breaks and lake effect snow showers this afternoon.
We don’t expect much accumulation around Metro Detroit but a dusting to an inch in spots as we head into the late afternoon and evening. Highs only around 30 degrees with winds W 10-20 mph gusting 20-30 mph at times keeping wind chills in the teens all day.
The winds are lighter tomorrow, but the cold air stays locked in place. Highs in the upper 20s to low 30s with wind chills in the teens at times but mostly feeling like the 20s. A few lighter lake effect snow showers on and off again with winds WNW 5-15 mph.
Saturday will be quiet and cool in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees with partly sunny skies. A snow storm is coming early Sunday and will bring accumulating snow to SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario. The computer model data is still struggling on snow totals as the system is still organizing off the Pacific Ocean.
But, it looks like we could see 2-5” Sunday giving the kids something to do as we end the weekend… Shovel! Another accumulating snow is heading our way Tuesday. Stay ahead of snow and cold with the Local4Casters app and take the weather with you.
