Drier, but colder Friday and this weekend

Cold start to March

DETROIT – Friday morning will be well below freezing, but overnight winds may have helped dry our roads and sidewalks.  Ice will be confined to only a few isolated spots that remained wet before the Detroit area went back into the freezer.

Temps will begin near 20 degrees.

The afternoon will be mostly cloudy and remain cold with highs near 30.

Not unusual, but many hoped for a warmer start to March.

Friday night will be colder with lows in the mid and lower teens.

March's first full weekend will be sunnier but remain cold.  Saturday and Sunday morning will be in the teens.  Each afternoon will be in the mid 20s.

Monday will be near 30.  The next chance of snow will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
