Dry and chilly start to the week

Rain will stay away today and tomorrow

It's a chilly start to the work and school week.

Some areas are waking to temps below freezing with wind chills in the 20s.

We will see a mix of sun and clouds early in the day with increasing clouds into the afternoon.

Highs will only reach near 50 degrees as we stay in the 40s most of the day with winds SE 8- 15 mph making it feel cooler with a few healthy gusts.

But the rain will stay away today and tomorrow.

Tuesday will be a warmer day around SE Michigan as winds turn more southerly warming us to the 60 degree range.

Once again, our skies will fill with clouds through the afternoon tomorrow but it will be a dry election. Exercise your right to get out there as the weather will not be a factor.

There's a very good chance for rain on Wednesday.

We will see rain on our doorstep Wednesday morning but most of the heavier rain will move in by the afternoon.

So a good midweek soaker is heading our way with a  few showers lingering around Detroit on Thursday morning before the system clears.

Temps will cool down into the 40s later in the week too.
