Christmas evening, Thursday, will be cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the low 30s. Fortunately, conditions will be dry for people driving to dine with relatives.

Thursday night will become partly cloudy and cold with lows in the low 30s and upper 20s.

Friday, the first day of Kwanzaa, will begin with mostly to partly sunny skies. Temperatures will rise from the 20s and 30s to the low 40s with the help of a southwesterly wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Clouds return Saturday with light rain and highs in the middle 40s. Raindrops will turn to snowflakes Saturday night, making roads slippery. No heavy accumulation is expected, and the rest of the weekend will be dry.

Sunday will be partly sunny and colder, again, with highs near 35 degrees. The rest of 2014 and Kwanzaa will be more December-like. Highs will be in the low 30s and upper 20s, and lows will be in the 20s and teens.
