Flash Flood Watch in effect for much of SE Michigan

DETROIT – A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for much of southeast Michigan until 4 a.m. Friday.

The following counties are under the watch:

Oakland County
Macomb County
Saint Clair County
Sanilac County
Lapeer County
Genesee County

After two rounds of strong thunderstorms, we'll see much less activity overnight.

Although a stray shower isn't out of the question through sunrise tomorrow. Afternoon temperatures have ranged from the upper 60s in our northern counties to near 90 near the Ohio border where thunderstorms generally missed. Overnight lows will fall to the mid-to-upper 60s. Also expect some areas of fog to form near sunrise.

Friday forecast:

Friday, the disturbance that triggered today's round of storms will still be hanging around, keeping an isolated thunderstorm in the forecast. But any that we see won't be as intense. Highs will go back to the mid 80s with heat index readings over 90.

Weekend forecast:

Saturday, I don't think we'll stay completely dry. But any isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening will miss the majority of us. Highs will return to the mid-to-upper 80s.

Sunday and Monday look for mostly sunny skies with slightly warmer highs near 90.

The real relief rolls in by the middle of next week. Check out the cooler highs and lower humidity in the 10-day forecast.
