Friday will be dry before rain moves in for the weekend

DETROIT – A little Friday morning fog around SE Lower Michigan to watch out for but nothing too dramatic with another cool start in the 40s and 50s.

It won't be easy to hit 80 degrees today as morning haze gives way to a mix of sun and clouds Friday afternoon.

Still, a pretty nice way to end the work week! Expect mid to maybe upper 70s today with light winds S 5-10 mph.

Saturday brings storm chances especially late in the afternoon and evening.

There will be a few very light showers spreading into our far northern counties and into the Thumb through the morning or midday, but Metro Detroit stay dry until later in the day.

Highs will struggle under increasing clouds to see the upper 70s.

We will have showers around as we head into Sunday morning but it will not be a weekend washout. We should see more and more sun into Sunday afternoon as highs finally hit 80 degrees.

Warm weather returns next week mainly in the mid 80s all week with very few storm chances (maybe Wednesday afternoon) making for a great last week of summer for most students. With the storm chances Saturday, get the FREE Local4Casters Weather and Storm Pins apps to stay ahead of the summer storms.
