DETROIT -

Special note to those of you who follow me on Twitter (@PaulGrossLocal4): I sent a tweet this afternoon with a question. If you haven’t seen it yet , let me know your thoughts!

Alright, on to the forecast!

Showers this evening should diminish gradually later at night. Lows in the low 40s. Southwest wind at 10 to 15 mph.

TGIF!

Our Friday should start off dry, with scattered showers popping up during the afternoon. It won't rain everywhere at any one time and, in fact, some of you might not see much rain. But the risk will be with us, so keep the umbrella handy if you plan on spending time outdoors. Highs in the mid 50s. Southwest wind at 10 to 15 mph. Showers diminish Friday evening, then more scattered showers are possible late Friday night. Lows in the mid 40s.

Weekend forecast:

Two weather disturbances will cross the area on Saturday. If I have the timing right, one will generate a few showers early in the day, then we'll have a break, and then more showers by mid-to-late afternoon. It's going to be breezy, too, with west winds at 15 to 25 mph, with higher gusts. Highs in the upper 50s. Don't forget to come see the Local 4 news team at the Michigan School Expo at Oakland Mall!

Many of us will be there at the Local 4 booth Saturday afternoon. I'll be there from 3 to 4 p.m. -- come say hi!

Becoming mostly sunny and breezy on Sunday. Highs in the mid 50s.

Next week:

Partly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 60.

The forecast gets a little dicey for next Wednesday and Thursda,y as the computer models don't agree on the placement and timing of a warm front coming through...and this is a serious warm front as you'll see in my Thursday forecast. Right now, plan on at least a chance of showers on Wednesday, with highs in the low 60s.

As long as the warm front I discussed above roars through by Thursday morning (with a chance of thunderstorms), the afternoon would become quite balmy, with highs reaching the mid 70s!

Of course, things could change, as this is seven days out, so I'll keep you posted.
