Forecast: Chance for afternoon showers in metro Detroit

Isolated thunderstorms possible Wednesday evening

DETROIT – Expect cloudy to partly sunny skies and a chance for a few mid to late afternoon rain showers.

We will likely see light rain spreading in from west to east across SE Michigan after 3 p.m. Then, we could see isolated thundershowers around metro Detroit this evening. Rain will not be widespread or severe, so don't cancel your plans. Highs in the mid to maybe upper 60s. SE wind at 7 to 15 mph.

Our wet week will continue Thursday and Friday and the rounds of rain later in the week will be coupled with slightly cooler temps. There will be periods of steady, light rain tomorrow afternoon and/or evening with cooler high temps in the upper 50s. Winds will pick up a bit from the SW 10-20 mph with a few stronger gusts.

Your Friday includes very spotty, lighter showers to end the week staying in the mid 40s early to upper 50s through Friday afternoon.

We will have mild temperatures and lingering light rain showers to start your weekend. Again, this will not be an all-day event, drying out by Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
