Forecast: Clouds return Wednesday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – The fog took off early this morning, but clouds have hung tough through the day.

Clouds will thin tonight leading to cooler overnight lows, in the low 50s through most of the area. We may see some patchy fog develop but it shouldn't be as dense or as widespread as what we woke up to in Monday morning.

That clearing will be short-lived, though. Clouds return tomorrow early, but we still should manage to see some limited sunshine. High temperatures will touch 70.

Wednesday night we'll clear out again, so expect even cooler temperatures -- 40s area-wide.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with high temperatures again around 70 degrees.

The end of the work week will also bring the end of our dry conditions. Showers move through Friday, mainly in the morning. The cold front coming with those showers will drop our high temperatures to the lower 60s.

Cooler temperatures will last into the weekend, but we will see plenty of sunshine and dry conditions.
