Forecast: Dry weekend with cool temps in metro Detroit

DETROIT – It would be hard to script a better forecast, not only for the weekend but through most of next week.

Tonight any of the cumulus clouds that we saw this afternoon will quickly fade away, leaving us with clear skies and unseasonably cool temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s.

Saturday forecast:

Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine and highs near average, around 80 degrees. Humidity remains low, too.

Sunday forecast:

Sunday will be mainly dry. In fact, we'll have mostly sunny skies throughout the majority of the day. Closer to sunset we'll see a few showers and thunderstorms develop. Before that rain arrives, high temperatures will hit their warmest number of the forecast, in the low 80s.

That rain chance will come with a cold front that will drop temperatures back to the 70s for highs and 50s for lows for most of the next work week. But there's no sign of higher humidity in the forecast.
