Cool down continues Wednesday

Expect cool week ahead in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Average high temperatures right now are in the low 60s and, except for this Friday, we won't be anywhere near average for quite a while (which I guess is appropriate, because I'm nowhere near average, either).

Get ready for another extended stretch of cooler-than-you'd-like weather.

Wednesday forecast:

Becoming mostly sunny on Wednesday, with highs in the low to mid 50s. North-northwest wind at 8 to 13 mph. Mostly clear Wednesday night, with lows in the mid 30s.

Thursday forecast:

Partly cloudy on Thursday, with highs in the mid 50s. Showers develop overnight Thursday night, with lows in the mid 40s.

Friday forecast:

Breezy with a chance of showers on Friday. Highs in the low 60s (our only warmer day for a while). Showers end early Friday evening. Lows near 40.

Weekend forecast:

Partly cloudy and breezy on Saturday and Sunday, with highs only in the low 50s.

Then we get an upper level low pressure area developing and settling right over the Great Lakes / Ohio Valley region, which will bring a chance of showers and continuation of our cool temperatures (low to mid 50s).

In fact, a brief check of my super-long range computer models suggests that below average temps will hang around at least through the end of next week.
