Forecast: Rainy Wednesday on tap for metro Detroit

But another gorgeous weekend is ahead!

DETROIT – Rain with scattered thunder will spread across the area from south to north, with most of the activity moving in after midnight -- so your evening plans are dry and fine!

Heavy downpours may develop toward dawn, so be prepared for a slow morning rush hour. Lows in the low 60s. East wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Rain and scattered thunderstorms dominate Wednesday morning, with the activity becoming more scattered during the afternoon. Don't be surprised if we even see a few breaks of sun develop (which would only serve to fuel more thunderstorms). Highs in the mid to upper 70s. East wind becoming south or southwest at 8 to 13 mph. Rain chances continue through Wednesday night, with lows in the low to mid 60s.

Partly cloudy on Thursday with a chance of showers...especially in the morning. Highs in the low 80s. Partly cloudy Thursday night, with lows near 60.

Partly cloudy, cooler, and less humid on Friday, with highs in the mid 70s. Becoming mostly clear Friday night, with lows in the low 50s.

What a weekend! Mostly sunny on your Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s. Mostly clear Saturday night, with lows in the mid 50s.

Mostly sunny on Father's Day, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Partly cloudy Sunday night, with lows in the mid 60s.

Then shower and thunderstorm chances return Monday and Tuesday (along with some humidity), with highs ranging from the upper 70s if clouds dominate, to the mid 80s if we break out into some sunshine.
