Forecast: Watching a potential frost in metro Detroit

Plus, when will we get some much needed rain?

DETROIT – As expected, today sure felt like an entirely different season than yesterday did!

And the generally cooler weather is going to stick around for a while -- with two potentially frosty nights and two one-day warm-ups thrown in to keep us on our toes.

Skies will be mostly cloudy for a while tonight, then perhaps become partly cloudy late at night. Lows in the mid to upper 40s (8° Celsius for our Canadian neighbors). West-northwest wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Partly cloudy on Wednesday, with highs in the upper 50s (14° Celsius). Northwest wind at 8 to 13 mph. Wednesday's sunrise is at 7:45 AM, and Wednesday's sunset is at 6:53 PM.

Mostly clear Wednesday night, with lows in the low to mid 40s (6° Celsius).

Partly cloudy on Thursday and becoming very wind by afternoon. There's a slight chance for a brief, light shower. Highs in the mid 60s (18° Celsius).

Partly cloudy Thursday night with a brief, light shower possible. Lows in the mid 40s (6° Celsius).

Partly cloudy on Friday with a couple of sprinkles possible. Not nearly as windy as Thursday, but still breezy, with highs in the mid 50s ((12° Celsius).

Mostly clear Friday night, with lows in the mid 30s (2° Celsius). Some rural and lower elevation areas could see some frost -- it's really going to depend upon if the wind dies down.

Mostly sunny, a little breezy (not as breezy as Friday), and chilly on Saturday, with highs generally only in the upper 40s (9° Celsius).

Mostly clear Saturday night which, combined with slackening wind and very dry air overhead, promotes outstanding radiational cooling -- and this could bring our first widespread frost of the season, with lows near 30° (-1° Celsius) in rural locations, and in the mid 30s (1° Celsius) in the big cities.

Mostly sunny on Sunday, with highs in the low 50s (11° Celsius).

Partly cloudy and becoming breezy on Monday and Tuesday, with highs rising into the upper 50s (15° Celsius) on Monday, and the mid 60s (18° Celsius) on Tuesday.
