Friday brings warmer weather

Areas could see temperatures near 40

DETROIT – A cool morning in the single digits and teens with some subzero wind chills. Dry air cools and warms very quickly so we should rebound nicely today. Expect temps in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees by mid afternoon with mostly sunny skies through the early afternoon.

Highs clouds stream into the area through the late afternoon. If the clouds blow in too early we may struggle to hit our higher potential temperatures. The winds are shifting and will be blowing in from the SSW 5-12 but it won't last forever. A cold front is on the way overnight which brings slightly cooler temps this weekend.

A weak snow maker will bring less than an inch of fresh snow to start the weekend. Light snow showers through the early afternoon will give way to partly sunny afternoon skies and mid 30s tomorrow. Sunday will be dry and cool with highs in the low to mid 30s before we warm a bit again next week.
