Halloween forecast still very complicated

Then get ready for a November warm-up!

DETROIT – Tonight will feature a brief period of clearing skies, followed by an increase in cloud cover later at night. Lows near 40° (5° Celsius for our Canadian neighbors). South wind at 4 to 8 mph.

Mostly cloudy on Saturday, and it's Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening where things get complicated.

Some of my computer models insist on a few light showers or patches of drizzle developing by late afternoon, while other models keep us mostly dry during this period. Highs in the mid 50s (12° Celsius), with a south wind at 8 to 13 mph.

As for the prime Trick or Treating hours, the trend I'm seeing today in the models is for rain chances to increase, with those of you in the western and northern suburbs getting the rain earliest. Areas to the south and east, such as Wayne and Monroe Counties, will see this rain the latest. Evening temperatures should be in the upper 50s to near 50° (9-10° Celsius).

To help you plan tomorrow, I will bring you frequent live weather updates starting at 4:00 PM just before the Breeders Cup on Local 4, and continuing through Local 4 News at 6 and into the early evening.  I'll show you live radar and temperatures on the air, on special ClickOnDetroit.com updates, through push alerts on our free Local4Casters weather app (make sure your notifications are turned on), and on Twitter (@PGLocal4).  Also, don't forget to take pictures of your precious little Trick or Treaters and pin your best photo on Storm Pins.  I'll show a whole bunch of them on Local 4 News at 6 and 11.  Your kids could be on TV!

Saturday's sunrise is at 8:05 AM, and Saturday's sunset is at 6:28 PM.

DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR BEFORE YOU GO TO BED SATURDAY NIGHT…ENJOY THAT EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP!

Partly cloudy and warmer on Sunday, with highs near 60° (15° Celsius).

Becoming mostly clear Sunday night, with lows in the mid 40s (7° Celsius).

Then get ready for a spectacular stretch of mild November weather, with mostly sunny skies Monday through Wednesday, with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper 40s to near 50°. With a little luck, we may be able to hold off an approaching front and extend the nice weather into Thursday. I sure hope so, because I'm off next Thursday and want to play golf with Roger Weber!
