A heat advisory is now in effect for all of SE Michigan, which means the heat and humidity is getting more and more dangerous and is not going away anytime soon.
In fact, it’s a 36-hour heat advisory carrying through today, tonight, and all day Wednesday.
Highs will be in the low to mid 90s with heat indices in the triple digits.

This is just a typical heat wave many of you will enjoy at the pool or on the boat. But, it can be a danger to the health of those in sensitive health groups including elderly, young ones and anyone with a heart condition.
So, take breaks frequently if you’re going to be outside in the heat and humidity for too long.
We will see a few more soaking rain and thundershowers through the afternoon as well.
Humidity keeps Metro Detroit steamy
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, temperatures ranged from a “cool” low 80s in areas getting a shower or storm, to low 90s in places that haven’t had rain. However, the persistent high humidity makes it a very steamy afternoon, with heat indices (how hot it really feels outside) now around 100 degrees in the warmer locations.
Like Monday, some isolated thunderstorms are possible through early evening. The high humidity not only makes it uncomfortable, but also provides a moisture boost to any storm that develops, meaning that any storm can produce torrential downpours. Once again, temperatures will remain in the 70s overnight.
Heat advisory continues through week
The Heat Advisory continues Wednesday with highs in low to mid 90s and feels like temps in the triple digits.
Plus, we are getting no relief in the overnight hours to cool off which is another reason for the concern during this heat wave. Scattered showers with the heat of the afternoon are again very likely and will be part of our pattern through the end of the week.
The break from the heat and humidity comes late Friday. So temps all week will be in the 90s with very uncomfortable humidity day and night.
A cold front late Friday will bring a threat of strong storms in the afternoon and evening and cooler temps closer to 80 degrees for the weekend.
