DETROIT –
Saturday and Sunday become hotter, and the atmosphere gets more humid and more unstable. Showers and thunderstorms are possible with a "Marginal Risk" of severe weather late Saturday afternoon.

Rain, thunder and lightning are in the forecast, but Saturday and the weekend will not be wash-outs. Satruday morning will have magnificent sunshine peeking through the clouds. It will be cool to mild with temps in the low to upper 60s then rising to near 80 degrees by lunchtime. It remains dry for morning services and activities.
Saturday afternoon will be partly sunny and hotter. Highs will be in the middle and upper 80s. Although humidity will remain seasonable, it's important to stay hydrated and make sure pets have plenty of water to drink and stay far away from empty vehicles.
The early and mid-afternoon remain favorable for hydroplane and NASCAR fans. Michigan 400 activity will be taking place at the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in Jackson. Hydrofest is happening in and along the Detroit River. It will not be a wash-out for those events, but there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing and racing across the region as early as 4pm ET in Jackson. The Motown area will experience stormy, rainy conditions after 5pm ET.
There is a "Marginal Risk" of strong to severe weather. Everyone must be on guard for heavy downpours, frequent lightning and damaging wind and hail late Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. Anyone going to the Tigers' game against the Angels at Comerica Park must have a plan to duck indoors if it becomes stormy. Same for anyone outdoors for barbecues or concerts.
Sunday will be partly sunny with showers and storms possible, again. Like Saturday, wet weather will not occur all day. Rain activity will be scattered. Highs will be in the middle and upper 80s.
The last few days of August and first few days of September will be similar. Skies will be mostly sunny Monday through Friday. Highs will be in the low 80s. Lows will be in the 60s. This is the perfect opportunity to head to the beach or hit the pool before going back to school regularly.
