How long can this weather last?

Metro Detroit could see 3rd-straight weekend with beautiful weather

DETROIT – Crystal clear and cool tonight, with lows in the mid to upper 40s in the suburbs, and in the low 50s closer to Detroit and the Urban Heat Island.

Mostly sunny skies to start our Friday, with some partly cloudy skies possible during the afternoon as a weak upper level disturbance crosses the Great Lakes (it's not strong enough, nor is there enough moisture, to generate any showers, so don't worry about that). Highs averaging in the mid 70s, with cooler readings near the big lakes as lake breezes develop, and warmer readings the farther west you are and away from those lake breeze influences. South-southwest wind at 4 to 8 mph.

Mostly clear Friday night, with lows in the low to mid 50s.

Mostly sunny on Saturday...a picture perfect day for the Race 4 The Cure downtown (where the Local 4 News Morning team will be...come on down to cheer them on), and at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at West Bloomfield High School (come on out and help me celebrate my 25th year as a cancer survivor -- I'll be there all day into the evening). Highs near 80. Mostly clear to partly cloudy Saturday night, with lows in the upper 50s.

As I discussed yesterday, the computer models still don't have a great handle on the Sunday weather pattern. HOWEVER, I am seeing a bit of a trend developing, which could possibly lower our rain chances to just the scattered category. I wouldn't cancel any outdoor plans yet...give me a chance to see the model updates on Friday and update you then. Partly cloudy Sunday night, with lows in the mid 50s.

Mostly sunny on Monday, with highs in the mid 70s. Partly cloudy Monday night, with lows in the mid 50s.

Partly cloudy on Tuesday, with highs in the mid 70s.

The forecast for Wednesday and Thursday gets a little murky once again, as the computer models are having a very difficult time with the midweek weather pattern. Shower chances will increase, but the timing and extent of the rain pattern are very uncertain at this point.
