Humid Saturday afternoon with thunderstorms in Metro Detroit

Highs in low 80s

DETROIT – Showers and thunderstorms visit Detroit for the weekend. It will be warm and a bit humid with fall-like conditions returning afterward.

Skies will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy mid-day. Families attending the 2nd Annual Senior Citizen Resource Fair & Fun Festival in Highland Park can prepare for warm and humid conditions later. In addition, Detroit and Southeast Michigan will experience more storm activity by the end of the event.

By 4pm and beyond, a frontal system will be in the vicinity and spark showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may contain heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds. Highs will be in the low 80s.

Showers and storms linger Saturday evening. Parrotheads and John Fogerty fans must be prepared to listen to Comerica Park authorities and take notes of signs and placards directing concertgoers to safe areas.

Saturday night will be warm and muggy with lows in the upper 60s.

Sunday will have more storm clouds with chances of heavy rain, lightning strikes and loose wind-blown debris. Highs will return to the low 80s. Families and event organizers will need to have an indoor Plan B in their pockets.

Monday feels like fall, again. It will be breezy with morning lows in the 50s and afternoon highs near 70. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunnier and warmer, but temps will remain below average. Afternoon readings will be in the middle and upper 70s instead of near 85 degrees.
