MINNESOTA - A strange phenomena has appeared on the shore of Medicine Lake in eastern Minnesota. Spiky mounds of ice, which looked like piles of needles formed along the edge of the beach.
Meteorologists say the ice needles form when ice on the lake was pushed by strong wings onto the shore, the warmer temperatures then weakened the ice and it splintered.WATCH: Ice 'needles' on the shore of Medicine Lake in Minnesota
