Isolated storms Saturday afternoon, hot

High near 90 degrees

DETROIT – Hotter weather is on the way this weekend. Some rain is possible Saturday, but Sunday will have only sunshine.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Saturday morning will be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures near 70 degrees. Dream Cruisers can ride with the top down through the middle of the day as temps rise to the low 80s at lunchtime.

Anyone outdoors will need to stay hydrated and cool to remain healthy and happy. Highs will be in the upper 80s with partly sunny skies. There is a chance of isolated showers and storms between 3pm and 8pm ET, but not everyone gets one. Most neighborhoods will be dry, so few plans need to be canceled or changed. Remember, you can track any showers or storms on the Local4Casters app. Just search for "WDIV" in your app store.

Any showers or storms will slowly fade away Saturday evening. Temps will be in the 80s for music fans going to experience Erykah Badu at Chene Park.

Saturday night will be fair and warm with lows in the low 70s. Air conditioning will be needed for many residents to get a good night's sleep.

Sunday will be even hotter minus any rain. Sunshine will be abundant for everyone in Southeast Michigan. Highs will be near 90°F with a heat index slightly higher.

Monday will be hot, too, with highs near 90°F. A cold front brings showers and thunderstorms, and lower temps are on the way for Tuesday and beyond. It will remain warm, though, with highs between 80° and 85°F Tuesday through Friday. On and off showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
