Light snow showers Thursday

Highs in the mid 30s

DETROIT – Radar this morning is picking up a few flurries and light snow showers with chilly temps. The winds have relaxed a bit so wind chills won't be a major issue as you head outside today but it will feel like we're in the 20s most of the day.

Lake effect snow is going to produce 3-6" of snow along parts of Western Michigan today with a Winter Weather Advisory near Kalamazoo and Holland making driving very tricky the farther west you head west today.

Cloudy skies here with an occasional snow shower and no accumulation expected. Highs in the mid 30s with winds WNW 7-14 mph.

We will see cloudy and cool weather again Friday with a few flurries once again. Highs will stay in the mid 30s with only a few peeks of sunshine. Saturday looks better with partly cloudy skies and mid to upper 30s.

We will see some light snow falling in SE Lower Michigan on Sunday and that may start to stack up for our first accumulation chance of the season.

Right now, the computer model data is hinting at about an inch of new snow starting Sunday morning. Beyond that, we are going to stay cold for a while into next week.
