Local 4Casters: Cold start to Spring in Detroit

Highs in mid-30s

DETROIT – Detroit's first full week of spring begins with the feeling of winter Sunday and Monday. Fortunately, it will those days will be filled with radiant sunshine.

The Detroit Red Wings host the St. Louis Blues at 12:30pm EDT at Joe Louis Arena. Hockey will have an appropriate winter-like feel outside the venue. Temps will be in the low 30s midday with mostly sunny skies.

During Sunday afternoon's Alvin Ailey's performance at the Michigan Opera House, skies will remain bright with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees below average. Highs will be in the middle and upper 30s.

Sunday night will be very cold, again with lows in the middle and low 20s under fair skies.

Monday's weather will be conducive for outdoor recess for student, but they will need to bundle up, again. Morning bus stop temps will be in the middle and low 20s. Afternoon highs will be in the middle 30s for softball, baseball and lacross practice.

With spring being Michigan's season of change, temperatures to return to average Tuesday; the middle and upper 40s with partly sunny skies. Showers are possible Wednesday with highs in the warmer upper 50s.
