Local 4Casters: More hot, humid weather ahead

DETROIT – The heat and humidity that we saw none of last week is back and making up for lost time. Now that the 80-degree weather has returned, it's not going anywhere any time soon.

Look for some light patchy fog overnight, but it shouldn't be as dense as what we saw on Monday morning. Temperatures will only fall into the mid 60s now that the humidity is back, too.

On Tuesday, temperatures will be slightly warmer with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Heat index readings, or "feels like" temperatures, will reach above 90 degrees for the remainder of the week. We'll see mostly sunny skies after any light fog burns off early in the morning.

Temperatures will remain virtually identical from Tuesday through Labor Day Monday. The only variation in the forecast will be any rain chances that pop up.

Right now, Thursday looks to bring the most likely chance of a shower or thunderstorm. But with plenty of heat and humidity, instability will be running high and it won't take much to trigger a thunderstorm at any point this week.
