Metro Detroit weather forecast: Lower humidity arrives Monday night, Tuesday

Lows in the 60s

Monday evening continues to be a roaster with temps in the 80s. Detroit cools off and becomes less humid Monday night and Tuesday, but it remains very warm.

Monday evening will have fair weather, cauliflower clouds overhead as heat slowly trails away. Temps will be in the 80s through dinner-time.

Monday night will be clear and cooler. Ahead of high pressure, the clockwise wind around it will blow from the northwest and north. Thus, drier arrives and it will feel more comfortable. Overnight lows will be near 65 degrees in Motown and in the upper 50s and low 60s in surrounding neighborhoods.

Tuesday will have abundant sunshine for everyone. It will be very warm, again, but more comfortable. It's still a great idea for campers, athletes and outdoor workers to take frequent water breaks. Highs will be in the middle and upper 80s.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and hot, again. Highs will be near 90 degrees with seasonable humidity.

The rain deficit remains well over an inch for July and nearly three and a half inches for the year in Detroit. Much needed showers arrive Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thunderstorm activity is possible, too. Highs will be in the middle 80s each day. Sunnier skies return Sunday.
